Looking into Matthew 21 Jesus asks the Jews whether they considered John's baptism to be merely by man or from heaven. John 1 answers that as it says that there was a man sent from God, who's name was John.

Both in Matthew 21 and John 2 Jesus went in the temple and overthrew the tables of the money-changers.

Both Matthew 21's parable and John 1 and 3 mention the only begotten Son.

Both Matthew 21 and John 12 mention Jesus entering Jerusalem fulfilling Zechariah 9:9's prophecy, although the Greek word used for sitting (on the donkey) differs, though I don't know whether it is significant or what it means.
